New Release of Colony Allotment Software 3.0.5.2

A new release of Colony 3.0.5.2 is available for download from the downloads/updates section of our website now. This update addresses the 2 issues raised at the recent user group meeting on 18th June, 2009 -

1: The find by Plot on the lettings screen not ordering by plot number.
2: Adding a new waiting list applicant refreshes the screen on selecting the preferred site and the new applicants record disappears.

Pre install please make sure you backup your Colony.mdb file to preserve your custom queries and reports.

Please note this is an interim release as all users should now be updating to the new version 4 to experience the enhancements requested by the users at the user group meeting.

Allotments Go Higher

Allotments have gone higher since our last news item.

We now have a claim for a site in illingworth from Calderdale Council at 270 metres or 885.87 feet. This exceeds the previous best from Durham County Council by 13.87 feet.

Can you do better? if so contact us 0845 055 6441 or by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

“Highest Allotment Plot in Britain ?”

In recent correspondence regarding the forthcoming User Group meeting we posed the question to Colony Allotment software users "Where is the highest Allotment Plot"?

This was prompted by the discovery that the appropriately named Highcliffe site in Sheffield has a plot at 758 feet. Can you do better we asked? Yes, you can, with Durham County Council claiming a cultivated plot at 872 feet !

The challenge has been raised can you beat Durham County Council with 872 feet?
